With the Shoah Memorial and the National Archives

The visit has two educational aims: the Panthéon, a temple to great men and women, sheds light on the founding values and principles of the French nation from the Revolution to the present day.

A visit to the Shoah Memorial, through the destiny and personal journey of Simone Veil and her family, brings home the unprecedented nature of the Shoah and its importance in the history of humanity.

At the National Archives in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, the tour-workshop offers an opportunity to meet an independent woman, driven by humanist convictions and attached to republican values. At the heart of the tour are Simone Veil's lifelong battles for the status of women and the construction of Europe.

Picnic lunch.

Drive to the Shoah Memorial.

Visit (duration 3h30).

This tour includes a general visit followed by a meeting with a witness: a former deportee or a hidden child. This is a unique opportunity to establish a dialogue between the witness and the students. In the absence of the witness, an extract from a filmed testimony is shown.

Picnic lunch.
